The Saramonic SG-MS1 is a short M-S Stereo Shotgun Microphone. Compact and Ultra-Lightweight, it features a cardioid capsule and a figure-8 capsule, that together give a realistic and true stereo image that’s width adjustable for professional recordings. It features comprehensive connectivity—including professional dual XLR, USB-C, and 3.5mm outputs—allowing users to adjust stereo width in real time or via a mixer, recorder, and app, or in post-production. Ideal for boom pole or on-camera operation in dramatic film and television shoots, as well as nature, music, environmental, and sound effects audio capture.

Adjustable Stereo Width with Flexible Recording Options
The SG-MS1 shotgun includes a 5-pin XLR to dual 3-pin XLR cable to connect to professional cameras, mixers, or recorders, allowing M/S decoding to adjust width in real time or post-production. It also features a USB-C output for smartphones and tablets, and a 3.5mm output for cameras or portable recorders. When using USB-C or 3.5mm connections, you can adjust the stereo width via the Saramonic System app or in post-production. Additionally, the 3.5mm jack doubles as a headphone port for real-time monitoring when recording to mobile devices via USB-C.

Flexible Output Modes for Different Recording Scenarios
The SG-MS1 features a 3-mode pick-up control dial, offering a versatile multi-functional mic solution. Raw M-S records unprocessed audio using both cardioid and figure-8 capsules, providing maximum mixing flexibility for stereo fields, sound effects, ambience, and music. M/S Mono utilizes both XLR outputs independently; the M-XLR outputs the cardioid capsule, perfect for dialogue and directional recording, while the S-XLR outputs the figure-8 pattern, ideal for two-person interviews. Decoded L/R converts Mid-Side audio into standard L/R stereo channels in real time, making it perfect for instantly capturing a stereo image.

Extremely Lightweight and Compact with Professional Shock Mount Included
The SG-MS1 includes a professional shock mount with Rycote Lyre® mic mounts and features a cold shoe mount and a stand mount with 5/8”, 3/8” and a 1/4-20” thread options. Allowing universal mounting options on cameras, boom poles, pistol grips, mic stands, and more. At only 3.17oz (90g) and 6.9” (17.5cm) the SG-MS1 is extremely lightweight and compact making it easy to manage when on a boom pole for long shoots, or on camera without interfering with a short lens.
