Over the past month, we here at Saramonic have been running a market research project for on-camera microphones. We've been in deep development on microphone projects but, admittedly, without your help we're just designing things to our own tastes. We know that projects like this are subjective, but we appreciate the feedback from all of you.
Today, we'd like to unveil the microphones behind the first mic challenge. Microphone number one has been an industry leader since its release in 2017. Since that release, there really haven't been any close competitors in features or in sound quality. That mic was none other than the Rode VideoMic Pro+, a fantastic on-camera mic that you may very well be familiar with.
That leads us to microphone number two. Over this past year, we have been in the development of a new on-camera microphone that could not only compare but compete with an on-camera microphone of the Pro+'s calibre. We feel confident after this test, and many tests, that we have developed an equally impressive microphone that, in some opinions, surpasses the sound quality of the predecessor.
Saramonic is proud to announce the Vmic5 and Vmic5 Pro microphones. In this challenge, 84.1% of viewers preferred the sound of the Vmic5 Pro over the Rode VideoMic Pro+ when set to equal levels and distances within our studio. Yes, as we said we know this was subjective; we mentioned that at the beginning of the comparison videos. But, we are still ecstatic.
On top of the sound quality of this great new mic, it offers some really great additional features not found on any other mics in this class including an onboard dedicated headphone output, a full-sized interference tube, and an included furry windjammer, just to name a few. Also, the price really can't be beat! So, if you're looking for something with the same great sound quality, but maybe you don't need the advanced audio controls, check out the Vmic5; every bit as good, but for a more remarkable value.
We were so excited about the sound of the Saramonic Vmic5 Pro when compared to the Rode VideoMic Pro+ that we had to let you hear it for yourself and let you decide. Many have spoken and overwhelmingly preferred the Saramonic Vmic5 Pro.
