Quick Start Guide for Saramonic Blink 500 B3-B4-B5-B6 Ultracompact Dual-Channel Wireless Mic Systems

The Saramonic Blink 500 B3, B4, B5 and B6 wireless systems are insanely easy to use. Even though these wireless systems aren't complicated, we decided to make a quick how-to article to explain the ins and outs amd make the process even easier.

Right out of the box, this system is ready to use. You can just plug in the receiver to the phone or tablet, turn on the transmitters, and go! Plug in the receiver to your device then turn on the transmitter or transmitters by holding down the power button for about 1 second. The LED light on the receiver will be solid blue when paired with the transmitters. If not paired, the LED will flash slowly.

You can use the TX transmitter's integrated omnidirectional microphone by just clipping it to your subject's lapel or collar. Or, use as a traditional body-pack transmitter with the included lavalier microphone. The transmitters both feature input level controls, right on the side, to raise or lower the volume of each subject.

Launch your video or audio recording app on your device, then go into the audio settings of the app and choose Blink 500, if it is not already auto-detected. Take a quick test video speaking normally into the mics to make sure you're getting a strong, clean signal and an even mix of the two subjects when using two transmitters. If the audio in the test video is acceptable you are ready to shoot. If not, raise or lower the levels on the transmitters in the input level on the app to get the sound you want. Some premium apps allow for real-time monitoring with Bluetooth headphones. If your app allows this feature we suggest monitoring with headphones during the shoots.
